APMMEA contains a primary and a tertiary amine group,and a hydroxyl functional group, which provide multiple features. The amine group can be used to neutralize and be used as a co-dispersant and as a wetting agent, to increase solubility of the components, control pH of latex paints, to enhance pigment dispersion and dispersion stability.
